Hi, I am Gwen, your facilitator! And yes there are quite a few of us around in the UK 😊
I remember offering my very first sessions (as a student) in Bottisham, Cambs., near my home, because I’ve kept a few friends who came to Biodanza classes for the first time there!
Why call my brand Biodanza East Anglia? I'd initially started running monthly groups in Norfolk before 2020 in Dereham & Norwich - thanks to Mike, my dearest Norfolk-based life companion and staunch supporter. More recently I'd taken the opportunity I'd been given, to offer sessions at the Sun & Moon festival in Suffolk. Then in 2025, came the decision to travel less far, & I’m now committed to running a regular twice-monthly class in Cambridge.
After training twice for the fun of it, I have by now accumulated 20 years' experience in Biodanza & finally qualified with the International Biodanza Federation at the LSB/the London School of Biodanza. Since then, I’ve really enjoyed spreading my wings & attended further extension training in France, Belgium, Holland and Spain – which felt so enriching.
In a true spirit of 'Biocentric Education' - Rolando's own philosophy, to always "Put Life at the Centre"- I love the opportunity for collaboration when it comes along - so I have really enjoyed co-creating with colleagues during summer festivals & winter retreats, to present our vivencias (the name we almost always use to describe our sessions) around the UK.
NB. Whenever these are deemed of interest, I aim to inform my Cambridge participants about any other Biodanza events, because it is an opportunity to dance with & experience other facilitators and teachers - as well as meeting & socialising with many other biodanzeros/as.
In fact, besides the tremendous amount of personal growth I feel I’ve benefited from on so many levels over the years, the real magic of Biodanza remains that (since in-session chatting is discouraged), one comes across other Biodanza adepts (whom we don't necessarily know much about) and, even months or years later, how precious it can feel, to re-discover such blissful & timeless heart connections - from having shared deeply soulful Vivencias together.
